The ongoing collaboration between adidas and Parley for the Oceans continues with the upcoming release of the adidas Parley Ultraboost 2019. The release date coincides with Earth Day on April 22nd, 2019. adidas is working with Parley to keep plastic from entering our oceans and transform it into high-performance sportswear. Spinning the problem into a solution. The threat into a thread. This Earth Day, the German sportwear brand is excited to share the release of a new adidas Parley Ultraboost running shoe. If you enjoy sweating it out and making a difference at the same time, this shoe is for you!

The 2019 collaboration between Parley and the Three Stripes features a Core Black primeknit upper, mixed in with a touch of ocean blue. The primeknit upper is constructed using yarn from recycled plastic. Parley takes plastic from coastal beaches before it reaches the ocean, then transforms it into a useable fabric. The sneakers include a boost midsole, along with a Continental Rubber outsole. These kicks are perfect for running with the adidas Stabilizing Torsion System.

In an effort to further promote sustainability, adidas intends to construct five million pairs of sneakers using ocean plastic this year. The Three Stripes also intend to use recycled polyester in 100% of their products by 2024. adidas has also partnered with Parley to create a series of running events on June 8th for World Oceans Day. The races are meant to raise awareness and support initiatives to protect the oceans. Climate change and ocean health are key issues for our planet, and adidas is taking positive steps to ensure we move in the right direction.
