Radically reinventing menswear classics, Junya Watanabe owns an aesthetic that is unequivocally his. Formerly underly the tutelage of Comme des Garcons head honcho Rei Kawakubo, the Japanese designer has gone on to forge his own legacy in the fashion world.

Soaking in a wide range of influences ranging from classic Americana, french workwear and expertly executed tailoring, it is hard to deny that Watanabe’s eclectic eye is anything but unique, his latest collection baring fruit that claim.

Spring/Summer 2015 sees Watanabe utilise his avant garde approach to a concise range of beautifully constructed outerwear, teaming up with a range of heavyweight collaborators such as Levi’s, Hervier and Duvetica. The collection itself is awash with signature Junya touches, utilising a Boro patchwork motif alongside several utilitarian touches such as functional pockets, leather panelling and generous detailing.
