One of the fashion world’s undeniable dynasties, Missoni is the by-word for Italian luxury with their lavish knits and expertly crafted cuts adorning the most discerning sartorialist for decades.

Established in 1958 by Olympic hurdler Ottavio Missoni and his wife Rosita, the couple began experimenting with knitwear, which had become the fabric of the fifties, playing with motifs, using their Raschel sewing machines to create stripes, plaids and eventually discovering their now world-renowned zig-zag motif. Combining their unique construction techniques with developments in material dying, namely the multi-colour space dyed yarn which has also become the brands signature, Missoni created a genre defining style that they have remained faithful to to this day.

Now under the creative directorship of the founder’s daughter Angela, the family legacy truly lives on with the brand’s menswear collections garnering attention season after season. Autumn/Winter 2014 does nothing to abate this with a solid collection of knits, tees and accessories that make full use of their signature aesthetic.

Utilising their space dyed yarn, tees are cut to perfection with a simple crew collar whilst the range of polo shirts have a considered finished with a three button placket and branded chest pocket. As ever, the highlight of the range is the knitwear with some truly astounding pieces ranging from fine space dyed efforts like the Degrade Crew or more practical pieces such as the Fair Isle Crew, which melds together the brand’s signature pattern with the traditional Scottish design.

Finishing the collection off is a continuing collaboration with Scottish rainwear brand Hancock. The Hooded Mac features a detachable knitted collar and tonal zig-zag emblazoned underarms panels adding a touch of luxury to the handmade outerwear piece.

The Missoni Autumn/Winter 2014 collection is now available online at EndClothing.co.uk.
