The year is 1983, the third of the mighty 80s. On January 1st, the transition from Arpanet to the TCP/IP protocol basically translated into the official installation of the internet. It was also on this very same time frame that the Nike Internationalist was first released. Apart from the obvious coincidence, and even knowing that the two things are a world apart when it comes to ubiquity, the fact is that a journey with more than 30 years is always very much worth a mention.
Legend says that the official debut of the shoe was made by long distance runner Alberto Salazar at the New York City Marathon, in 1982. History then tells us that we had to wait almost three decades to see the silhouette back with a fresh release.
