Read more about the inspiration for the Nike KD VI Bamboo from Nike.com:

The colorway was initially launched during Durant’s 2013 Basketball Tour in Shanghai this past July. Bamboo is traditionally known to transform after five years of delicate care, which by no coincidence aligns with Durant’s fifth year in OKC.

The green and bronze represents this metamorphosis and is complemented by a bamboo graphic pattern and special outsole logo.

Balance. Harmony. Toughness. Versatility. These are all characteristics that make Kevin Durant one of the game’s greatest players and bamboo a perfect inspiration for the KD VI Bamboo.

The growth and dependability of bamboo echoes the design philosophy of the KD VI, where precision meets performance.
