The Nike Kobe 9 was revealed a few weeks ago at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles. The Kobe 9 will be the first Nike Basketball sneaker to feature Flyknit technology. The concept of using Flyknit on a basketball shoe is meant to make the sneakers lighter and more responsive. As the release date approaches, images of a few different colorways have surfaced. Two limited-edition colorways of the Kobe 9 Elite will be available exclusively at the 21 Mercer and Dover Street Market Nike locations in New York City. The Kobe 9 Elite Inspiration colorway will be worn when Kobe makes his return from injury, and rejoins the Lakers. The Perspective colorway is loosely based on the cubist paintings of Picasso, while the Detail colorway is themed on the work of Michelangelo.
