With the commonly associated imagery of strawberries and cream, a politely partisan Henman Hill and the logo of the nation’s best selling fruit-based diluted soft drink etched into the nation’s brain for the next fortnight, it’s something of a saviour that Puma have released a provincial favourite in time for Wimbledon.

Worn by Wimbledon’s youngest ever champion, Boris Becker, the Puma Court Star was one of the pinnacle styles from a raft of releases during the 1970s and ’80s which firmly established the German brand as the go-to for tennis footwear.

This latest reissue, the first since the 1980s, has a slightly chunkier silhouette and makes great use of premium leather uppers for a clean, off-court look. Details such as the perforated Formstripe to the side panel and classic gold foil block branding, this clean looking trainer is finished off with a slightly aged midsole as a reverential nod to the OG release. Look for the Puma Court Star to release on July 4th online at EndClothing.co.uk.
