A brand with a strong, tangible provenance and a point of reference that informs their entire ethos, the Stutterheim Autumn/Winter 2014 collection is everything you’d expect from a Swedish rainwear label; uncomplicated functionality.

Directly inspired by an old coat found in an abandoned barn, label-founder Alexander Stutterheim went about recreating this very special piece of clothing. Special because the coat was worn by his grandfather whilst fishing off the Stockholm archipelago island of Arholma. This classic piece of rainwear from the 1960′s served a true functional purpose, being carefully utilised as the basis of Stutterheim’s design. After countless tweaks and redesigns, the Arholma Svart – a brand staple piece – was born.

The debut drop to land here at END. revolves around the Stockholm-based brand’s hometown-named signature style; the Stockholm. An evolution of sorts from the original Arholma Svart, the Stockholm is constructed from thick rubberised cotton with double welded seams to ensure the harsh realities of Mother Nature are kept at bay. Infact each piece is individually tested in ‘horrible conditions’ both at land and sea to guarantee the highest levels of quality.

Cut to a neat, modern-day silhouette, the Stockholm is finished with hemp string hood adjustment, contrast silver buttons and considered branding in the form of an embossed tonal logo.

A brand that suitably embraces Swedish melancholy at it driest, the Stutterheim Autumn/Winter 2014 collection is now online at EndClothing.co.uk and Barneys.com.
