1. adidas Y-3 Qasa High ‘All Black’

The Qasa High silhouette was given the all black treatment by Yohji Yamamoto for this Fall 2014 release. The unique design and luxury aesthetic made this sneaker one of the top releases this year. The adidas Y-3 Qasa High is now a classic in our books, and deserving of the 2014 Sneaker of the Year title.

2. Nike SB x Air Jordan 1 by Lance Mountain

Bringing back the skater roots of the Air Jordan 1 was definitely a great idea. The Air Jordan 1 was a popular skate shoe during the 80s due to its high ankle support and durable leather. The added paint layer ensures that the sneakers change over time as you wear them in. Great concept and design lands the Nike SB x Air Jordan by Lance Mountain in the number 2 spot this year.

3. CNCPTS x New Balance 997 ‘Rosé’

Released: November

To celebrate the launch of their New York City store, Concepts teamed up with New Balance to release a sneaker inspired by Rosé. A great new version of the popular New Balance 997 Made in USA sneaker earns this collaboration third spot on our list.

4. Supreme x Nike Air Foamposite One

Released: April

This release caused mayhem and was eventually cancelled by NYPD due to safety concerns in New York City. The hype on these kicks was well deserved. Collaborations between Supreme and Nike rarely disappoint.

5. END. x Saucony Shadow 5000 ‘Burger’

British retailer END. made the most of their opportunity to work with the classic Saucony Shadow 5000 silhouette. The burger concept was executed to perfection. The release even included extra laces in condiment packaging. We are all looking forward to seeing what END. will work on next.

6. Ronnie Fieg x ASICS Gel-Lyte V ‘Mint Leaf’

Released: April

Ronnie Fieg brought back a classic colorway that was originally released on the Gel-Lyte III silhouette. It’s good to see the  ‘Mint Leaf’ colorway back on the streets. Another dope collaboration between Ronnie Fieg and ASICS.

7. Nike Air Yeezy II ‘Red October’

Released: February

Hyped for months upon months, and then released without a warning. The resale price on these kicks hasn’t come down much since their initial release. The fact that this was most likely Kanye’s final collaboration with Nike ensures the ‘Red Octobers’ will become an all-time favorite amongst sneakerheads.

8. CNCPTS x Reebok Insta Pump Fury 20th Anniversary

Released: June

Concepts put together a fresh take on the Reebok Insta Pump Fury reminiscent of old-school Versace prints. The flair added by Concepts to this classic silhouette led to this release selling out quickly. Concepts arguably had the best design of all the Insta Pump Fury 20th anniversary releases.

9. Nike Roshe Run NM ‘Fleece’

Fleece colorways and the Nike Roshe Run work perfectly together. One of the nicest versions of the Nike Roshe Run NM to date.

10. Nike Kobe 9 Elite Low HTM

The super limited release of the Kobe Elite Low HTM made this one of the most sought after Kobe sneakers in years. Incorporating Flyknit technology into the Kobe 9 gave designers infinite possibilities to work with, and they definitely did not disappoint.
